Student loans A4v

Ok I sent off a A4v to the fed student loan and Dept. Of Ed. And got the green card receipts. I only sent the presentment and nothing else. No irs forms, etc ... but I'm wondering if I should have wrote a cover letter instructing them what to do? If I didn't send one will this effect anything and should I just send one now?
