EIN PROBLEMS

Unable to get EIN online. gives me a ref.# 101 and number to call IRS. they are looking for me to file for estate. Guess IRS has no record of my SPC name since I changed it for the process. Would this be the situatiton? Would just buying some ID cards and maybe a passport straghten this out? Would the IRS accept these proofs? Without an EIN I'm stuck, please help
