Setting up Trust for friend in need.

I am going to help a friend set up a Trust in a hurry in an attempt to keep his son's mom, hereinafter "psychopath", from having his parental rights stripped from him out of spite. Time being of essence as well as security, would a Living, charitable, factualized or UBOT be most adviseable? Open to suggestion of course and will the Trust agreement/indenture need to be recorded at the county or UCC-1? And How do these differ in cost to establish/record? Would it be adviseable to have him grant guardianship to the Trust once the paperwork is complete?
