1099 for car purchase

I went to the dealership to purchase a new vehicle and i used a 1099-A form to make the purchase i sent over the original copy to the IRS and gave a copy to the dealership. It has been about 2 weeks and no notifications as of yet. Did i use the wrong form or is there a better way to make this purchase?
