how do i go about getting a medallion stamp at the bank?

i recently got a treasury direct account authorization and durable power of attorney to have stamped and signed at a financial institution. what should i take to the bank with me, and what should i say when i go there in order to accomplish my goal? it is part of my spc filing, and i've never done this sort of thing before. thanks, alex
