SPC Filing Question

Hello.  I used SFS to file my SPC.  I was required to obtain a copy of my Birth Certificate for them to use in the process.  They were used or sent somewhere.  When individuals file their SPC's by DIY - have you kept your B/C and just used the information on it or was it sent to a US Departmental Office?  Just curious.
